Looking after your appointment
A gentle home routine that keeps heels soft and nails balanced.
A pedicure leaves toes neat and skin smooth, and a gentle routine at home keeps both that way until your next visit. Read this as a quick refresher and contact the studio with any questions.
First 24 to 48 hours
- Choose open-toe footwear if you have had a polish.Polish needs a few hours to fully harden. Open shoes prevent smudging at the very edge while it cures.
- Keep feet clean and dry, especially between the toes.A dry environment helps cuticles settle and prevents any irritation while the skin recovers from filing.
Ongoing care
- Moisturise heels and soles every evening.Hydrated skin resists hard-skin build-up far better than removing it afterwards does.
- File hard skin lightly once or twice a week.A gentle file maintains softness without thinning the protective layer underneath.
- Rotate footwear and choose roomy shoes.Tight or repeatedly-worn shoes trap moisture, which softens nails and skin in the wrong way.
Care to take
- Apply SPF to feet when wearing sandals.Foot skin burns easily and tan lines from straps can last well into the next pedicure.
- Skip blade-style corn removers and acid plasters at home.A gentle file plus a rich foot cream achieves the same result without thinning the protective layer.
Get in touch if
- You notice increasing redness, swelling, or a green or yellow nail. These can indicate infection and need professional review, sometimes alongside your GP.
- You develop a painful ingrown toenail. We can advise on next steps and refer you on if it needs medical attention.
